Sharon Di

Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Assistant Professor

My specialty is travel behavior analysis and transportation network modeling. My research applies optimization, game theory, and data analytics to study transportation problems.

Good research should always be rooted in real-life problems. Therefore I strive to maintain a balance between theory and application. To this end, I aim to understand and model transportation systems which are radically evolving thanks to the emerging communication and sensing technologies. In particular, I am interested in leveraging large data collected from various traffic sensors to understand transformation in travel behavior pattern and help public agencies make efficient and sustainable decisions in transportation planning and management.
