Dr. Anthimos Vardis Kandiros is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Data Science Institute, where he is participating in research supported by the Computational Social Science Working Group. His research focuses on machine learning theory, causal inference, high dimensional probability and statistics.

Under the guidance of Professor Donald Green and Professor Christopher Harshaw, Dr. Kandiros is developing new theory and methodology to improve the design and analysis of randomized experiments. In particular, he is exploring the intersection of algorithmic ideas from theoretical computer science and the practical challenges faced by researchers implementing these experimental approaches.

Before joining Columbia University in July 2025, Dr. Kandiros earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at MIT, where he studied under Professor Constantinos Daskalakis.
