David Murray

David R. Murray provides fundraising leadership and support to a variety of presidential and provostial priorities at Columbia, including the Data Science Institute. In addition, he has served as Interim Associate Dean for Advancement at the School of Social Work, the School of Professional Studies, and the School of International & Public Affairs, and he has supported fundraising priorities of the Journalism School and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science.
Throughout his career, David has helped donors support the causes that mean most to them, from PBS and NPR to universities and civil rights groups. David sings in the Empire City Men’s Chorus and funds the Nancy Denovan Musical Reading every year at Second Stage Theater in memory of his mother. David holds a B.S. in computer science from Bucknell University and an M.A. in philanthropic studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
