Eleni Drinea is a Senior Lecturer in Discipline, holding a primary appointment with the Department of Computer Science, and a joint appointment in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award from the Columbia Engineering Alumni Association.

Eleni Drinea received her MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science from Harvard University. She then joined the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at EPFL, Switzerland, as a research associate. Her research interests lie in theoretical computer science, and include randomized and graph algorithms, information theory, algorithms for big data, and dimensionality reduction techniques. She has served as the director of the Master in Data Science program at Columbia for more than seven years.
