We conduct core research on problems that cut across the data sciences and engineering.
Our research focuses on formal and mathematical models for data processing, as well as on issues concerning the engineering of large-scale data processing systems. We support and amplify the study of five specific markets – Cybersecurity, Financial Analytics, Health Analytics, New Media and Smart Cities – all of which lie at the center of New York City's innovation economy.
Machine Learning and AI Seminar Series
The Machine Learning and AI Seminar Series convenes top researchers from across the country to present the latest advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence, spanning theory, practice, and applications. Covering topics from language models and optimization to interpretability, AI for science, and probabilistic methods, the series provides a shared forum for Columbia’s community to exchange ideas.
