Dr. Devansh Jalota is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Data Science Institute, where he is part of the 8th cohort of the DSI Postdoctoral Fellows Program. His research develops data-driven and online learning algorithms and incentive schemes to advance the science and practice of market design for sustainable and society-aware resource allocation, with an application focus on future mobility systems.

Under the guidance of Professor Sharon Di and Professor Adam Elmachtoub, Dr. Jalota will focus on designing and analyzing new methodologies for congestion pricing, with a particular emphasis on NYC. Collaborating with researchers from the Columbia Climate School and Earth Institute, Dr. Jalota will also focus on innovative approaches to informal transport systems that are common in many countries to serve passengers in their last mile.

Before joining Columbia University in August 2025, Dr. Jalota earned his Ph.D. in Computational and Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University. He also holds a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and B.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
