Dhruv Balwada is a physical oceanographer at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. His research focuses on fluid turbulence in the ocean and its role in Earth’s climate system. He combines theoretical approaches with machine learning methods to derive insights from sparse oceanographic observations, develop downscaling techniques, and build neural network parameterizations for unresolved processes in climate models.
