Javad Ghaderi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. His research interests include algorithms, optimization, machine learning, and stochastic networks, with focus on improving the efficiency and performance of networking and AI systems.

He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013, followed by a one-year Simons Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin. He joined Columbia University in 2014.

Dr. Ghaderi’s contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including Best Paper Awards at IEEE INFOCOM 2024 and 2020, the Stephen S. Lavenberg Best Student Paper Award at IFIP Performance 2020, NSF CAREER Award in 2017, Best Paper Award at ACM CoNEXT 2016, and Best Student Paper Finalist Award at the American Control Conference (ACC) 2013.
