Information for Mentors

The Data Science Institute (DSI) at Columbia University is excited to announce our search for the 8th cohort of the DSI Postdoctoral Fellows Program for the 2025-2027 cycle. This prestigious two-year program aims to develop the next-generation of leaders in data science and artificial intelligence. Fellows will conduct independent and innovative research within a dynamic environment that fosters multidisciplinary and collaborative efforts.

While not required, applicants are encouraged to identify 2-5 potential mentors from one or more DSI research centers or the broader University community. Candidates do not need to have established relationships with prospective mentors and are not required to contact faculty directly before submitting their applications. Finalists will be assigned at least two mentors, ensuring a balance between foundational areas (such as applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning, optimization, and statistics) and specific domain areas. Finalists will be paired with mentors by the search committee, with priority given to DSI members and affiliates, facilitating a rich mentorship experience that aligns with the fellows’ research interests and goals.
