Dr. Zhihong (Sandy) Zhang is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Data Science Institute, where she is part of the 7th cohort of the DSI Postdoctoral Fellows Program.
Under the guidance of Professor Maxim Topaz and Professor Maryam Zolnoori, Dr. Zhang’s research at the Data Science Institute will support and significantly enhance the ongoing research projects within the realm of machine learning, speech recognition, and natural language processing (NLP) in healthcare settings.
Before joining Columbia University in July 2024, Dr. Zhang earned her PhD in Nursing and Health Science and MS in Data Science from University of Rochester. Dr. Zhang also completed an MM in Clinical Medicine from Tongji University (China).
