Digital Technologies for Aviation in the Age of COVID-19
About the Talk: The aviation world has been rocked by changes necessary to slow the spread and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. From an R&D perspective, this has meant a rapid change-over to supporting efforts in safer air travel as well as altered schedules and plans (for travelers, airlines, and supporting industries). This talk will provide a “behind the scenes” look into how GE Research is working to keep things running safely and securely.
Bio: Dr. Paul Ardis is Research Platform Leader for GE in charge of digital research for aerospace applications. Dr. Ardis received his B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Purdue University in 2005 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester in 2007 and 2009 respectively. Prior to his work at GE, Dr. Ardis was posted as a DoD-supported Research Associate Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology and as a consulting Research Scientist under contract to the Air ForceResearch Laboratory.
