Dr. Eli Weinstein is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Data Science Institute, working with Professor David Blei on Bayesian machine learning and causal inference, and their application to genomics. His research seeks to develop new methods for causal inference from structured data, and to apply these methods to large scale biological datasets in order to design novel therapeutic interventions.

Before joining Columbia University in July 2022, Dr. Weinstein received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard University, where he was advised by Professor Debora Marks and also worked closely with Professor Jeffrey Miller. He received his A.B. in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard University, working with Professor Adam Cohen.
