Dr. Zhongyuan Lyu is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Data Science Institute mentored by Professor Yuqi Gu and Professor Kaizheng Wang.
Dr. Lyu’s research at the Data Science Institute focuses on developing statistical methodology and theory for learning heterogeneous unobserved structures in mixture models, latent variable graphical models, and tensor decompositions, and developing statistical and computational tools for analyzing heterogeneous data.
Before joining Columbia University in July 2023, Dr. Lyu received his PhD in Mathematics from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he was advised by Professor Dong Xia.
